forest engagement session | shane & taelyr: engaged

there is something powerful about seeing two people from very different backgrounds come together and choose to forge a future as one.  these two have already faced some uphill battles, both as individuals and as a couple and it’s exciting to see them stand beside each other filled with hope for what’s to come.  thanks for sharing your hearts and your time with me, shane & taelyr. same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_110same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_111 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_112 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_113 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_115 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_116same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_118same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_117 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_119 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_120 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_121 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_122 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_123 same sex engagement session | sharalee prang photography_124

nice pictures, although I feel as though they’re kind of dark for being engagement photos. Maybe that’s what they wanted ? Don’t get me wrong, they’re beautiful people but I was straining to see them within the black.
Maybe a better balance and contrast or even a fisheye lens would help focus on them more instead of black ? Just a suggestion from a fellow photographer.

      Anonymous,

A blog comment section is not a place for critique–did Sharalee ask for it? No? Then don’t leave it.

There are plenty of shots here that are light-filled. You might need to turn up the brightness settings on your monitor because I can see them fine without straining. A fisheye lens also wouldn’t help much with focusing on the couple… a fisheye makes the shot even wider and unnaturally bubble-like, so you would end up with the couple looking like they are in a bubble in all the shots… which I don’t think is the point here.
